Transgrid

The brief

Transgrid operates and manages the high voltage electricity network in NSW and the ACT and is embarking on a significant development program of new transmission infrastructure. The organisation interfaces with a wide cross-section of stakeholders and engaged Newgate Research to deliver an ongoing program of reputation research to measure how it is performing and how to optimise its engagement.

The solution

Senior stakeholder studies are a SEC Newgate speciality, and we offer approaches from soft soundings though to sophisticated research using our proprietary evaluation framework, NewREP©. We identify key organisational reputation drivers and the most effective actions to strengthen performance.

Since 2015, SEC Newgate has conducted annual reputational research spanning Transgrid’s most important government, regulator, advocate, industry, direct customer, large energy user, supplier and landowner stakeholders. Our approach – comprising interviews, online surveys and telephone surveys – provides deep and broad coverage of opinion.

The outcome

This program of research has informed Transgrid’s decision-making in relation to stakeholder engagement, strategic priorities, organisational communications, day-to-day operations, and employee education and training.
